Arjun Kapoor is an Indian actor who appears in Bollywood films. He is the son of film producers Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie Kapoor, the nephew of actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, the stepson of actress Sridevi, and the half brother of actress Janhvi Kapoor.

In 2011, Kapoor was signed by Yash Raj Films to make his film debut with the drama Virus Diwan. After some days, the film was delayed to be released and the company opted Kapoor out of the project. He then finally signed Habib Faisal's romantic thriller Ishaqzaade (2012), which he began filming in June 2011. The film, which marks his first of many appearances with actress Parineeti Chopra, centers on the story of two political families (one of Hindus and another of Muslims), in which the son of the Hindu family (played by Kapoor) falls in love with the daughter of the Muslim family (played by Chopra). Upon release, Ishaqzaade received positive reviews, and grossed ₹460 million (US$6.7 million) domestically, becoming a major commercial success and one of the top-grossing productions of the year.
